As well as providing care for private patients, Neath Hill dental practice also provides dental care for NHS patients. This covers most dental treatments as assessed by the NHS.
If you normally pay for NHS dental treatment, there are three price bandings and the cost of NHS care depends on the treatment that is required.
Band 1: £26.80 covers an examination, diagnosis and advice. It can also include X-rays, a scale and a polish and planning for future treatment if necessary. Band 1 also includes emergency care.
Band 2: £73.50 covers everything in Band 1 plus fillings, root canal treatment and tooth extractions.
Band 3: £319.10 covers everything in bands 1 and 2, and more complex treatments including crowns, dentures and bridges.
Urgent – £26.80
If you require any work from bands 2 and 3, your dentist will provide you with a personal treatment plan detailing the costs and payment terms. You’ll be asked to read and sign this before treatment begins, so there are no surprises when it comes to fees.
There can be some instances in which payment is not necessary. Patients will not have to pay:
- for denture repairs
- to have stitches removed
- if your dentist has to stop blood loss
- if your dentist only has to write out a prescription – however, if you pay for prescriptions, you’ll have to pay the usual prescription charge of £8.60 when you collect your medicine(s)
